This is what selling out
actually costs.

A partnership with the wrong brand can cost creators more than just lost followers...comment sections turn toxic, brand partnerships disappear, and a reputation that took years to build is destroyed overnight. One wrong deal can cost more than it ever paid. On Sellout, your fans fund your ability to say no before it ever gets to that.

Creators are stuck between a rock and a brand deal.

Platform revenue is basically zero. The only real money for creators comes from brand deals, but the brands with the biggest budgets carry the biggest risk. You either take the deal and lose your community's trust, or keep your integrity and go broke.

That's not a choice. That's a trap.

Our pledges have teeth.

Brand deals by nature can't be hidden. Whether in a video, a link, or a hashtag, your community sees what you endorse. If you break your pledge, there are real consequences.

❓ FAQ

Got questions?
We've got answers.

What's the benefit for creators? +
Sellout gives creators a direct financial reward for the thing they were already doing for free: saying no to brand deals that betray their community. Instead of silently turning down thousands of dollars, creators can now make a public pledge, set a goal, and let their fans fund their independence. You keep creating the content your audience loves, maintain the trust you've built, and get paid to do it without compromising your values.
What's the benefit for fans? +
Have you ever wondered if your favorite creator aligns with your values? Not only do you get those answers on Sellout, but your support helps fund creators' integrity. And unlike that expensive merch you can't return if a creator sells out, if a creator breaks their pledge, you get your money back.
How is Sellout different from Patreon? +
Hot take? There's no harm in having both! Patreon is for fandoms: exclusive content, early access, and direct connection to your fans. Sellout is a social contract: creators list their values, and fans fund their independence. Patreon asks fans to support creators, while Sellout asks creators to stay publicly accountable to their values in exchange for their fans' financial support.
How does the clawback work? +
If a creator breaks their pledge, active subscribers can report it with evidence. Once a threshold of reports is reached, Sellout reviews the content against the signed pledge and gives the creator a chance to respond. If the violation is confirmed, all raised funds are returned to subscribers automatically via Stripe. Fans can keep the refund or redirect their support to another creator.
How much does Sellout cost? +
On our free tier, creators can raise up to $500/month with a 10% platform fee. Our Pro tier is $9.99/month, removes the cap entirely, and drops the platform fee to just 5% β€” lower than Patreon's cheapest plan. For fans, Sellout is always free to access; they only pay the amount they choose to support their favorite creators.
Can I use Sellout if I'm a small creator? +
Absolutely! Sellout's free tier lets any creator start building their independence fund at no cost. Whether you have 500 followers or 5 million, the pledge is what matters, not the follower count.
What stops creators from making fake pledges? +
The pledge is a legally-binding contract. Breaking it means losing all funds raised. And because brand deals must be public to work, violations are essentially self-evident. Social media, not Sellout, is the watchdog.
